Unleash your inner creativity, reduce stress and increase mindfulness as you immerse yourself in a full weekends clay experience, be tantalized by a delicious organic feast then get down and dirty with the earthly goodness of throwing and decorating hand-made pottery.

This two-day workshop is something special, broken into 4 sessions you the class is designed for students to learn the entire making process from start to finish.

The day begins by arriving and getting to know each other at the ceramic studio, we will then begin the pottery journey by teaching participants the basics techniques of throwing on the wheel, this session lasts for two hours to allow students to really practice the various throwing techniques.

Suitably relaxed, you will then be treated to a sumptuous organic feast, with a full tummy, Kara Wood will then show you various decoration techniques for you to unleash your inner creative.  Only your imagination is the limit here.  For this session, Kara will prepare some pre-made thrown vessels for you to decorate that will be fired and glazed for you to keep.

On Sunday, suitably rested, participants will head back to the wheel and be shown how to turn, or finish thrown work from the Saturday session.  This step finishes your thrown pieces prior to decoration.

Once again a delicious lunch will be served before we dive head into decorating and finishing our very own thrown pieces using the techniques learned from the previous day.

After the class your pieces will be kiln fired, making them usable and food-safe.  All costs are included in the price of the day., including tuition, clay, food, beverages, firing, and glazing.
