This children's workshop is for all of those children that want to make something on the pottery wheel.  The workshop is designed for parents to attend with children and assist their child in turning a lump of clay into an amazing bowl.

Throw a bowl on the wheel

Imagine the feeling of eating out of a bowl you made yourself.  This workshop can make this become a reality.  Children, with the assistance of parents and the teacher will learn how to make a bowl on the pottery wheel and experience the joy of making things with clay.

This workshop is suitable for children aged 6-16 years.  All materials, firing, paint and glaze are included.

The cost of this workshop is $55.00.  Included in the cost is:

1.5 hrs tuition

  • Clay

  • Glazing

  • Materials as needed

What to bring?

We ask that a parent/carer attend this workshop with the child as throwing on the wheel is sometimes tricky.  Parents and children are both taken through the basics of throwing, then parents assist the child to center clay, operate the foot pedal and make the bowl.  The teacher will facilitate the learning of all children during the workshop.

Ceramic creations will take approximately 4 weeks to fire, glaze and be available for collection.
